Angela Nannini, PhD, FNP-C, FAANP
Dr. Nannini has over 40 years of experience in primary care, public health, health policy research and graduate nursing education. As a bilingual (Spanish) family nurse practitioner, she has worked with underserved populations across the life span in community health centers and directed community and school-based health education initiatives. At the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, she served in many capacities including Director of the Primary Care Division, senior policy analyst, co-investigator of the Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Study, and a founding investigator of the Pregnancy to Early Life Linked Database.
Through her involvement in different policy initiatives ranging from HIV, the sexual assault examiner program, perinatal primary care, family planning to health professions workforce analyses, she developed expertise in public health program planning, implementation and evaluation. Dr Nannini added to her experiential knowledge by earning a PhD in Health Policy, and has taught in the Schools Nursing at Northeastern University, the University of Massachusetts Boston and the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Dr. Nannini has 36 publications in peer-reviewed journals. She has a Bachelor’s of Nursing degree from Georgetown University, a Master’s of Nursing degree from Vanderbilt University, and a doctorate in Health Policy from the Florence Heller School of Social Policy at Brandeis University.
